Blackhills

Blackhills Barony is located in the north east portion of Blackstone. Home to the capital city of Braughm-Raor. Currently presided over by Count Huntington along with the Arawyn Barony as part of Darksands County it has hosted numerous gatherings of adventurers in the past few years.

Once known as Wave Froth, Firelight Cove has seen an increase amount of Gathers since 605. Known pirate and greater undead activity have been ever present and there are a number of various pirate factions that differentiate themselves by distinct colored sashes. The town of Firelight Cove is under Ducal control, with one of Lord Crowe’s sons being groomed to assume control as the town lord once matters quiet down and the pirates are brought in check.

Stonereach is another town within the Blackhills Barony. The town of Stonereach has been the host of the local Gathers for some years; it is located northwest of Mount Sarobar in the Black Hills, a few miles inland from Darksands Bay . Its major claim to fame has been the local phenomenon of naturally forming Gates. For some unknown reason, the vicinity around Stonereach is a focus point for the Natural world of Tyrra, and the other Planes of reality. The most recent convergence was between Tyrra and the Plane of Chaos in the year E.R. 602

The Blackhills Barony is also home to Mount Sarobar. Mount Sarobar is an active volcano in the Northeast corner of the Duchy, in Darksands County. It is responsible for the fertile soil that gives the Duchy her name. It is said that within it's cone lies a massive Chaos Gate which is guarded by an undead keep. In November 606, the volcano showed signs of activity by emitting large volumes of ash. The sky was so thick with ash, it was hard to tell day from night and even undead were able to walk during the day. This ash activity ceased in February 608.
