Kobold

Kobolds are small, tricky beings which are usually considered more of a nuisance than a threat. They are generally considered beggars and thieves, but in numbers they can be considerable foes indeed. When a pack of kobolds attacks they use surprise and ambush to their advantage. They will only attack if they greatly outnumber their opponents.

Kobolds have reddish fur, and somewhat lupine in feature. Some compare them to overgrown chihuahuas. They communicate with each other with high pitched yips and barks.

These beings are often used by an Orc Warlord, or other powerful monster, as fodder. This can be less than effective at times, because the kobolds break and flee so easily. They have to be constantly threatened and coerced, and therefore do not make the best troops.

Kobolds can be employed as informants by patient and well-armored (especially around the helmet) adventurers. Like goblins, they are easily distracted by wealth and food.
