Celestial Guild Of Elysia

The Celestial Guild of Elysia is the primary support organization for the study of Celestial Magic within the Duchy of Elysia.

The current Head Guildmaster of the Celestial Guild of Elysia is Spinner Grandefleur.

Here is what he has written about the guild:

The Celestial Guild of Elysia

History: The Celestial Guild of Elysia has existed in several forms throughout the years. Currently, the Guild is in the midst of a restructuring and expansion initiative begun in 605 by the previous Head Guildmaster, the late Kymri Tan'm Chaquell Ramishk. The Vizier, as he was known, recognized a shortage of skilled Celestial Casters in the land. He decided to focus the energies of the Celestial Guild on education and growth. Sadly, Vizier Kymri Tan'm Chaquell Ramishk met his permanent death on September 2nd, 606 in battle against Storm Giant assassins working for the Orc chieftan, Zenul.

Purpose: The Celestial Guild of Elysia exists to train dedicated individuals in the casting of Celestial Magic and to provide a place of safety where members can respectfully exchange ideas and discuss theories. The Guild is committed to the research of new Celestial spells and Formal Rituals as well as to the gathering and study of ancient lores.

Structure: The Celestial Guild is organized into a tiered system of membership.

Apprentice: In order to become an Apprentice of the Celestial Guild, you must be able to cast a fifth level Celestial spell from memory. In addition to training in the Celestial Arts, the Apprentice receives access to scrolls, spell books, and other equipment in the Celestial Guild treasury. This is an excellent opportunity for younger adventurers to grow with the Guild. There are no yearly dues for those of the Apprentice rank, however, like all members they are encouraged to aid the Guild in Spell Component gathering.

Journeyman: A Journeyman (or Journeywoman) of the Celestial Guild must have the ability to cast a ninth level Celestial spell from memory. Candidates for this position who have not served at least one year as an Apprentice with the Guild must obtain the sponsorship of an Elder or Guildmaster. The Journeyman gains access to loaner Cantrip Tomes from the treasury, discounted Formal Scroll rentals, and free Circle use for Rituals. The Journeyman may also gain the right to a Circle Investiture in a location of the Guild's choosing. Members of this rank are expected to pay 10 Gold in yearly dues.

Elder: To be chosen as an Elder, the candidate must have at least nine levels of Formal Magic in the Celestial School, and be an exemplary member of the Guild. An Elder retains all of the privileges of a Journeyman, but ceases to pay monetary dues. Instead, the Elder is expected to serve as a teacher and mentor to the younger members of the Guild, and to lend their skills in Formal Magic to the Guild when called upon.

Services: The Celestial Guild of Elysia maintains Permanent Circles of Power in several towns throughout the Duchy, including Caulder? in the Barony of Simoondale?, Scarletton? in the Barony of Meddlar, and Greymark? and Stonewood? in the Barony of Woodhaven?. The Guild has a complete set of all legal Celestial Formal Scrolls available for rental. The Celestial Guild also offers free and discreet Identification of Magical items and objects of curiosity.
