DraconisDraconis is a sub-culture that has developed among drake scavengers, though their existance is debated by many scholars and sages. Some believe that they are simply deluded lizard scavengers and that they have no true draconic ties, but for the sake of argument this information is presented... According to most commonly held information, they usually make their homes in caves or ruins. Some theorize this is a left over instinct from their ancestors, others say it from their years of having to hide from the people who wanted to kill them. However over the last 1000 years, more Draconis have been known to make their homes in-among other races. These dens are often decorated to reflect the personality of those it contains, sometimes resulting in a somewhat gaudy and garish appearance. OriginsThe origins of the culture is shrouded in mystery. It is rumored that they may have been the result of mystical experiments performed by elves in ancient times upon themselves, which might explain some of the desire they have for elven flesh. Another rumor suggests that they were created by Elder Dragons using the Scales of Creation to speak with a race known as Elves and other races of that time. Regardless of their origins, they are solitary, only getting together for breeding purposes. Over the centuries they have been hunted by the other races, possibly stemming from their resemblance to larger drakes which have quite deadly reputations. Since then, they have learned the importance of creating packs. Solitary Draconis still exist, but they will usually search for others of their kind to join together with. |
